This is a one-stop, central place, where you will find updated info about the bouldering at Rumbling Bald. Beta, name changes, grade changes, new problems, and announcements that supplement the Rumbling Bald Bouldering Guide are the focus of this blog.
Your comments on name changes
Here you can post any name changes that you feel need to be made. Instead of having all those "unknowns" out there, let's come up with some cool names together!
Hey Everybody! In the next edition of the Rumbling Bald Bouldering Guide I would like to name all of the "Unknown" problems at Rumbling Bald. If anyone has any suggestions for new names, please let me know. At this point, I feel that any first ascent information will not be attained for the majority of the "Unknown" problems. I especially feel that many of the fun warm-ups deserve a good name. Let's get creative and start naming!
The Trailside Boulder #7 on the West Side is known as the Homecoming boulder & the Fun-Filled Boulder #40 on the West Side was known as the Glass Pyramid.
TRP - The Trailside Boulder and the Fun-Filled Boulder were named in 1996, almost 15 years ago. One of my goals in writing the guide was to reduce the amount of multiple names for boulders and problems. I gathered info from many of the first ascentionists in an attempt to get the earliest names in the boulderfield. To my knowledge, these were the original names given to these boulders.
Some good names I just came up with for any boulder problems are: False Logic, Iridescent Blade, Justice Bloc, Power Release, Tricka, Flicker Flacker Floo, Pinch Corruption, Cocked and Dynoed, Bristles McGee, Gnarly Horse, Pristine, strength management. Grim Angel, Arch Angel, Thin Air, Monochramactic and Dance of the Dynasty are all 5 star names....
the unknown V6 directly left of lost cause on the 45 degree boulder in the terraces should be named double clutch, since it revolves around two back to back crux moves
