Hi everybody!
It is Tuesday afternoon, November 22, 2016.
The guide books are HERE!!!!
They arrived a few weeks ago in Charleston, WV where my publisher is located. He is currently shipping them out to stores and to those who have ordered them online. Most of the gear stores / climbing gyms in the southeast will be carrying the guides, as well as across the country. It may take a few more weeks for the stores to get them in. If you don't see them in your local gear store ask them to order some. Another fast way to get the guide is to order it directly from the publisher. Just go to the link on this blog, on the main page, on the right-hand side of the page. The website is www.brayackmedia.com
We have been getting fantastic reviews of the guide! All people who I have talked to are just amazed at how awesome it is! I am super happy that everyone likes it, finds it fun to read, and useful in the boulderfeild. Most people who have posted comments online have said that they are impressed at how thorough it is, how the layout and design is intelligent, and how great the topo photos look. Again, I am so happy that everyone likes it. The most important part to me is that people enjoy the guide and find the information very useful.
Lastly, I need to mention the wild fires that have taken place down at Rumbling Bald. I do not know the exact extent of the damage, but I do know that a lot of the boulderfield and cliff line were in the path of the fires. Right now there are a lot of questions as to what the access will be this season and how the State Park will manage the situation. For the most updated information about the current condition of Rumbling Bald, go to www.chimneyrockpark.com or call 800-277-9611. My heart goes out to the residents of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure and to those brave firefighters who have been working hard to contain the fire.
I hope you all have a great bouldering season down there this winter and be safe!!!
