I am writing this on Saturday evening, July 9, 2016.
After the super long wait and a very long editing process, the guide is finally DONE!!! We sent it off to the printers last night and I am super excited to have it back and into your hands! Some stats... It has almost 1500 problems, All new photos (all but 4 problems have a photo of them in the guide), new maps, mostly new text descriptions, and it is 576 pages long!!!
Thanks for all of you hanging in there with me over the years. It has actually been over 5 years since I started this second edition! I hope that everybody feels that it was worth the wait and useful while in the boulderfield and dreaming of sending problems late at night at home.
As far as this blog goes, I have deleted all of the old updated problems and such and they are now empty of information and fresh waiting for new first ascents to be posted. Be sure to post your new sends here, get beta, and see the new problems that come up over the next few years.
Lastly, since this guide was supposed to be out over 2 years ago, I hesitate to give you all a shelf date. However, since it is off to the printers already, it should take about 3.5 months to be on the shelves of the stores. If you pre-ordered the guide, it should be in your hands at about the same time (maybe earlier but I am not sure because my publisher handles all of that shipping stuff). Also, there may be unforeseen challenges at the printers, but if all goes well, the guide should be in hands and on the shelves by the end of October 2016 at the earliest.
Hope everyone is having a great summer and here's to a great winter season at The Bald!!! (this time with a new guide!)
God Bless, Chris
